City of Melancholy: Prague
The heart
of Bohemia, the fairy tale city; Prague.
Autumn best
suits this city.
The spirit
of the city is Melancholy.
If you are
a literature lover, you must have come across Franz in a verse. In Prague, you
live with Franz Kafka. With the presence of his, Franz erases the entire history
of the city. Once known for its famous Bohemian kingdom, it has now become Franz’s
city. These streets are the streets that Franz walked on, the roads he used to
go to school, the cemetery where he slept endlessly ... everywhere is his.
And the
city has Franz’s melancholy. This city has his resentment towards his father,
longing for Milena, and his early farewell.
While
touring the city with Franz, one gets lost in those narrow streets and
encounters a new surprise at every corner. Suddenly you come across a local
market, hear familiar music, walk along the Charles Bridge with hundreds of
strangers. And you take thousands of steps to climb that famous castle.
If you go to Prague one day, do not forget to watch the view of the city from the castle and say hi to Franz from me.
